I asked a few good friends if they knew of a ” Hidden Treasure ” , located in the west side of Los Angeles. “Fabroccini” was recommended by both. Located in a small shopping mall, the Beverly Glen Centre, the restaurant has been there for 17 years, owned by the same family.
Guests enter through an outdoor patio, that offers a relaxed atmosphere, protected from the elements. The inside dining room, provides a simple, yet refined atmosphere. The host and our server were very welcoming.
We started with a beautiful seafood appetizer. Next, Chicken Piccata for the entrée, that came with a choice of pastas. Also, we had a side of Brussel sprouts, perfectly caramelized with bacon and parmesan cheese, that kicks it up a notch. Freshness and quantities were superb.
Enjoying our meals, a party of three sat next to us. Raving about our choices, we struck up conversation with them. The gentleman sitting next to me asked, “What did you order?” An actor from Argentina, who is a frequent customer, they all ordered the Chicken Picatta.
Fabulousccino I joked , I really want to go back, for their family recipe, Mama’s Eggplant Parmesan, which is one of my favorite Italian dishes.
Later, I did some research. “In 1981, our father, Vincent V. Fabroccini first opened his Italian kitchen in Tarzana. He always used the best ingredients. He taught us to cook by hand and taste, never by measure. He used family recipes handed down from generation to generation. We continue this tradition today. This restaurant is dedicated to his memory and his wonderful recipes.”
Once you try, you will want to return. Yes, a true “Hidden Treasure”.
